Current Trends for Kitchen & Bath Cabinets

Expect a lot of designers to continue the mix of materials and textures for kitchen and bath cabinets. Although textured melamine has been around, it’s popping up everywhere now. Some textured melamine doors can create that 3D effect with more pronounced wood grains and colors. And it’s the perfect compliment when mixed with high gloss cabinets. Adding high gloss and matte flat panel doors for certain cabinets, like the island or upper cabinets, can create that modern detail without being so overwhelming. There are so many options for textured melamine and high gloss doors (brushed-metal gloss is gaining popularity).

Storage and accessibility remains one of the top requests during the cabinet design process. There’s nothing basic about drawers and pullouts anymore. Wider drawers, clever corner drawers and storage, creative drawers at sink area, and endless options for your pantry area. Spices, bakeware, small appliances and trash/recycle centers have their own space in the kitchen. Cabinet doors and drawers don’t have to have hardware either when you incorporate mechanical soft-close options.
